A series of demonstrations took place in Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, India, between 6 June and 25 July 2026. They were initiated by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), an Indian youth-based satirical political movement, along with left-wing student organisations including the All India Students …
Ah, Jantar Mantar—the place where political dreams go to either flourish or flop spectacularly. Recently, it became the backdrop for a rather entertaining escapade involving members of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). Yes, you read that right. I guess they figured if cockroaches can survive anything, so can their political ambitions.
Armed with nothing but the national flag and a healthy dose of determination, CJP members decided to stage a protest against the current government, led by none other than Narendramodi. One can only imagine the conversation leading up to this: “Hey, let’s go to Jantar Mantar and make our voices heard!” “Great idea! What could possibly go wrong?”
Well, as it turns out, quite a bit could go wrong. Reports from the scene, courtesy of our ever-reliable social media sleuth, Abhijeet Dipke, indicate that two members of the CJP, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, attempted to sneak into the protest area. Sneaking in? Really? It’s not like they were trying to crash a wedding uninvited.
In a classic case of ‘not-so-subtle’ protest tactics, they jumped the barricades. Because nothing says ‘I’m here to make a statement’ quite like a good old-fashioned leap over a fence. They must have thought they were auditioning for the next season of ‘American Ninja Warrior’ instead of engaging in political discourse.
Naturally, the Delhi Police were not amused. They swooped in faster than you can say “political dissent” and detained our daring duo. It seems that jumping barricades is not a recognized form of protest in the rulebook. Who knew?
This entire incident highlights the ongoing tensions between the CJP and government authorities. It’s like a never-ending game of cat and mouse, except the mouse is wearing a flag, and the cat has a badge. The CJP, known for its unconventional approach, has made it clear that they won’t back down easily. But jumping barricades? Perhaps they need a new strategy. Maybe next time they could just hold a bake sale and call it a protest. Everyone loves cookies, right?
In conclusion, while the CJP’s antics at Jantar Mantar may have landed them in hot water with the authorities, they certainly kept things interesting. Whether you agree with them or not, you have to admire their spirit—or at the very least, their commitment to the cause. Just maybe leave the parkour moves at home for the next protest, guys. Let’s keep the drama to a minimum!
